Ballston Project: 1950’s Transformation

Ballston Quarter Investment

The Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor is, by far, one of the hottest places to live in Northern Virginia. It has the highest concentration of college educated people, ages 18-34 years old, in the country. With 650,000 people projected to live within a 5-mile radius by 2019, it is no wonder that Arlington County plans to transform the area into what will be called Ballston Quarter. The transformation will feature a dynamic mix of commercial and residential spaces, and breathe new life into the city. Due to this incredible growth, we jumped at the opportunity to invest in a Ballston property.

Plans to Transform a 1950’s Rancher

Fitting with the Ballston Quarter transformation, our latest investment project is more than just your average renovation. We are transforming a 1950’s rancher into a classic American Craftsman style home. Considering the neighborhood’s revitalization, we are blending the old with the new. The basement and first floor are original to the home. However, the second and third floors are completely new!

We said goodbye to the ugly wallpaper, basement laundry room, low ceilings, and tiny living space. Now, this home is four levels! It features 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a master suite with his and hers closets that will excite anyone with a sizable shoe collection, 9 foot ceilings, and 4,200 square feet of spacious livability. We added a study and a porch to the home, which will allow for quiet moments for the working lifestyle and sociability with neighbors and friends. Additionally, beautiful oak stairs create character and large windows provide lots of natural light.

Not a Typical Reno

While this is much more than our usual renovation, our project is certainly an exciting investment. The house is within walking distance to Ballston, schools, shopping, and restaurants. With the development of Ballston Quarter will come many new opportunities, and Arlington is a desirable location to live. Most importantly, the Dutko | Ragen Team is dedicated to this project. Our contractors are working hard to build this house with the highest craftsmanship. Lastly, if you have questions about this property, please call 571-249-3551.
